Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, two Disney stars trying to break away from being called Disney stars. Easiest way to do that, star in a film were you drink, smoke, and shoot guns – and all while wearing a bikini. Throw in crazy method actor James Franco and two other hot girls in bikinis for good measure. Think that sounds like a good film, you’re in for a treat today.

The good girl gone bad (if you count nude internet sensation Hudgens a good girl) flick, Spring Breakers, just had its full trailer released today. A while back the producers of the film wanted to get Franco nominated for awards and were considering releasing it this award season, but that appears to not have happened. Instead the film is getting a 2013 release for the USA.

On the first hearing of this film you may be inclined to believe it was just another teen movie, like I thought. But quick research shows it was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, no small feat. Hope had risen from the ashes like the phoenix. Then today another trailer for the film came out. And hope is still alive just slightly dampened.

The trailer is a strange mix between dark sinister narration, and blue color tinted shots of the girls with guns and James Franco acting insane with the bikini clad girls jumping around. It’s almost as if the team doesn’t know if they want to sell the movie as a dark comedy with James Franco or hot girls in bikinis. So they chose both. And it kinda failed. Not to mention Selena repeating “it’s spring break” over and over is almost as annoying as the old head-on commercials. Apply directly to the forehead.
